He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Edward H. and Grace Schaller; his brother Dr. James E. Schaller; his brother-in-law William Zeiler; and his nephew Peter Schaller.
He is survived by: his former wife Linda H. Schaller; his children, Mary Schaller Blaufuss (Kurt), Stephen Schaller (Maureen), Paul Schaller and Rachel Otten (Steven); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Mencke (Brannon), Rebecca Blaufuss, Lucas Blaufuss, Stephanie Schaller, Emily Riddle (Dakota), Eli Otten, Katherine Otten and Jacob Otten; his sister Nancy Zeiler; and his sister-in-law Wanda Schaller. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: Friedens UCC - Hecker or Eden Theological Seminary - St. Louis.
