With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Herbert J. Halwachs of Waterloo, Illinois, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatz Halwachs and Emma Halwachs (Seier); his in-laws, Charles and Rose Marie Gaines; and his siblings, Emma Veres, Josephine Conder, James Halwach Sr., Louis Halwachs, John Halwachs and Shirley Powell.

He is survived by: his wife Trudie Halwachs (Gaines) of Waterloo, IL; his daughters, Melissa "Missy" Kimbrell (Mike) of Lebanon, IL and Gabrielle "Gabby" Hanks (Brandon) of Waterloo, IL; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn Drolet (Josh Brown) of Milwaukee and Will Hanks of Waterloo, IL..
