He was predeceased by: his son Gregory A. Young; his parents, Joseph Michael and Pauline Young; and his brother David Young. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Young; his son Michael Young (Wendi); his daughter-in-law Nancy Young; his grandchildren, Amanda Badger (Michael), Cody, Kyle Young (Liz), Tyler Young (Rachel) and Emma Starner (Nic); and his sister Donna Tinsman (Max). He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
