He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Toennies and Margaret A. Toennies; and his siblings, Norman, Cletus, Joseph, Alvin, Walter Toennies, Lucille Albers and Emma Toennies.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Toennies; his children, Mark Toennies (Jim Tibbetts), Barb Toennies and Randy Toennies (Julie); his grandchildren, Zander Toennies, Skylar Toennies, Ayden Toennies and Delaney Toennies; and his sisters, Bernice "Bim" Fuehne (Franklin), Marie Niemeyer (Greg), Janet Eversgerd (Tom) and Germaine Schulte. He is also survived by sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
