He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schaefer and Helen Schaefer; and his sisters, Dorothy Habrook and Rosie Rakers. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Schaefer; his children, Kim Kubik (Mark), Cassie Pate, Jim Schaefer (Susan) and Charles Schaefer; his grandchildren, Cameron, Mariah Kubik, Katherine Lenhardt (Shane), Carter Pate (Haley), Makenzie Hemmer (Dylan), Jacob, Mary, Josephine Schaefer, Kyle and Cole Schaefer; his great grandchild Skylar Pate; and his sister Beverly Meyer. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Quernheim Funeral Home (800 S Market St, Waterloo, IL 62298). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
