It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David R. Whelan of Waterloo, Illinois, born in Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away on May 26, 2022, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert G. Whelan and Laverne A. Whelan; and his son Joseph Whelan. He is survived by: his wife Kristie Whelan; his daughters, Nichole Whelan and Emily Whelan; his stepchildren, Jennifer Hemmer (Dan), Ashley Mitchell (Eric) and Lyndsay Roche (Logan); his grandchildren, Rosalie Heusohn, Hayley, Brady Hemmer, Zachary, Mason Mitchell, Colin Ezzel and Freya Roche; and his siblings, Danny Whelan, Cheryl Donjon (Mike), Randy Whelan (April) and Rhonda Whelan. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: American Cancer Society.
