With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrna Johnson of Wataga, Illinois, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on February 4, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Essex and Maxine Essex (Jones); her stepfather Floyd Gustafson; her son Mark; her brother Marvin "Sonny" Essex; and her brother-in-law Herb Tucker (Olga).

She is survived by: her husband Merritt Johnson; her son John Johnson (Rebecca) of Roscoe; her grandchildren, Beth Fleming (Nate) of South Beloit, Aaron Johnson of Roscoe and Zachary Johnson (Danielle) of Aurora, CO; her great grandchildren, Cambria Pierce, Layla Fleming, Lucas Johnson and Logan Johnson; and her sister Maureen Braden (Larry) of Lake Camelot. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church.
