It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Sue Brackney of Washington, Illinois, born in Altamont, Illinois, who passed away on November 16, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Francis and Lucille Blakely (Bowers); and her brother James Blakely. She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Cheryl Carney (Patrick) of St. Charles, IL, Steve Brackney (Melynda) of Frontenac, MO and Karen Stevens (Todd) of Washington, IL; her sisters, Mabel Behles of North Aurora, IL and Ruth Ann Hoffmeister of Altamont, IL; her grandchildren, Cloe, Jack Brackney, Patrick, Bill Carney, Bryn and Ben Stevens; and her great grandchildren, Hank, Norman Carney, Reese and Averie Carney.
Memorials may be given to Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, IL or Parkinson's Research Foundation in Sarasota, FL.
