He was predeceased by: his parents, Hallie Fay and Viola Kathryn Leedy Townsend; his wife Iona Howe; and his son Neil Townsend. He is survived by: his daughter Carol Garland (Paul); and his daughter-in-law Deb Townsend. He is also survived by six grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
