He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lee and Emma Dieckow Lee; and his siblings, Edwin, Ellis, Glen, Donald, Irene, Betty and Vivian.
He is survived by: his sons, Merle Lee Jr. (Bonnie) of Peoria Heights and Brian Lee (Margarita) of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Dawn Flanigan (Eddie), Daniel Lee (Shawna), Brianne Amburgey (Stevie) and Nathan Lee; and his great grandchildren, Jake Jones (Kennedie Brown), Braden Jones (Lizzie Strohbehn), Max Flanigan, Mila Flanigan, Chloe Lambrich, Derek Lee, Aislyn Cole, Ledger Amburgey and Sylas Amburgey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
