He is survived by: his spouse Carol A. Bertnolle; his children, Cathy Ellis (Mike), Jamie Gendron (Jerime), James Downey, Steve Downey (Jenny), Mike Downey (Miranda) and Lisa Hughes (Tracey); his grandchildren, Christine (Carl), Hayley (Jarrett), Jerime, Jackson, Gage (Jodi), Bailey, Mikayla, Mian and Tyler; his great grandchildren, Carl, Cruze, Lincoln and Peyton; and his sisters, Irene Haley (V. M.) and JoAnne Donahue (Don).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad or OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
