He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Essig and Frieda Essig (Koch); and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Thomas; his children, Jimi Essig (Debra) of Aledo, Deb Rich (Timothy Fleming) of Washington and Gregory Essig of Washington; and his sisters, Doris Farney and Laverne Patterson.
