He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Ekena and Pearl Shane Ekena; and his siblings, Jacqueline Slone-Howard and Donald Ekena. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Bunker; his children, Jeffrey Ekena (Sara) and Katie Ekena; his grandchildren, Libby, Carly, Lily and Carter; and his sister Sharon Worley (Dale).
