It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Dean Peabody of Washburn, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Peabody and Thelma Peabody (Scott); and his sisters, Betty Adolphson, Joanne Bostwick and Avonne Crank.

He is survived by: his wife Nita; his children, Scott Peabody (Tracy), Kyle Peabody (Diane) and Tricia Linzenmeyer (Kevin); his grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Hannah, Justin, Cailee, Alexis and Mason; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Emmy, Navy, Emery, August and Aspen. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Washburn Fire Protection District, 115 East Walnut Street, Washburn, IL 61570.
