He was loved and cherished by many people including : his mother Dianne Weigand; his adoptive father Clyde "Skip" Weigand of Warsaw, IL.; his wife Laura Rothert; his children, Cassandra Grunewald (Brandon) and Vincent Weigand (Jana Schmitt); his grandsons, Garrett, Waylon and Wesley Grunewald; his sister Jackie Cooper (Frank); his uncle Hank Courtois (Jean); his siblings, Joni Bush (Chuck) and Anthony Weigand; and his pets, Lucy and Indie. He was also cherished by father and grandfather who adored his wife, children, and grandkids.

Memorials may be made to his family, in care of Laura, for his grandchildren's education fund.
