He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William, Alma Stoneking, Frank and Ollie Root; and his niece Candice Fontenot.
He is survived by: his parents, Breece Root and Alice Root (Stoneking); and his siblings, Wanda Goldsmith (James), Deborah Root, Helen, Shawn Weaver (Cliffton), Bergis Root (Marriss Tully), Rebecca Root and Neysa Whippy (Rob). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins; and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
