With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dean Gerdes of Warsaw, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Luther and Lillie Loraine Gerdes (Trautvetter); and his sister Anna Bell Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Weaver of Warsaw; his children, Melissa Crittenden (James) of Fowler and Erik Gerdes (Cindy) of Kleen, Texas; his grandson Scout River Crittenden; his stepgrandchildren, Dakota Crittenden and Skye Rinehart (Peyton); and his stepgreat-grandchild Zooey Rinehart.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Printy Funeral Home (317 Main St, Warsaw, IL 62379). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Oakland Cemetery (1600 Cemetary Rd, Warsaw, IL 62379).
Dean had a great love for animals and memorials may be directed to the Hearts of Hancock Humane Society.
