He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Edel and Anna Maud Bird (Streich); his brother John Bird; and his grandsons, Ian Bird and Lane Bird.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Alyce Pfeifer of Warrensburg; his children, Scott Allen Bird (Paula Pope) of Warrensburg and Chandra Lee Jones of Decatur; his grandchildren, Taylor M. Bird of Warrensburg, Alyssa D. Bird of Decatur, Kaitlyn N. Jones of Decatur and Justin T. Jones of Decatur; and his sisters-in-law, Arlene Bird of Warrensburg and Cassandra Welborn (Michael) of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by one niece, one nephew, and several cousins.
