He is survived by: his children, Robert Gates (Judy) of Warren, IL, Linda Sharpe (Robert) of Indianapolis, IN and Roger Gates (Rebecca) of Forsyth, IL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in his memory for the Warren United Methodist Church.
