He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Harris and Matilda Harris (Kempert); his son Stephen; his brothers, Jack Harris (May) and Burdette Harris (Joan); and his grandchildren, Baby Girl Scheider, Nancy Harris and Doug Harris.
He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn Holmes; his son Michael "Mike" Harris (Carrie); his wife Bonnie Hicks; his daughter Sharon Scheider (Dennis); his daughter-in-law Mary Kerley; his grandchildren, Sheilah, Jaime, Andy, Crystal (Mark), Cole, Alex, Abby and Lisa; and his great grandchildren, Ariel, William, David and Oliver. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory for St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Warren, IL as well as Warren EMS.
