He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gerber and Doris Gerber (Beall); his stepmother Marjorie Leverton; the mother of his children Sandra Johnson; his siblings-in-law, David, Kenneth Kaiser, James Wienen, Liz Gerber and Lois Wienen; and his parents-in-law, Rita and Joseph Kaiser.
He is survived by: his former wife Sandra Strohacker; his wife Karen "Smiley" of Warren; his sons, Shane Gerber (Elizabeth) of Lena and Chad Gerber (Nicole) of Lena; his stepson Brian Reed (Jeannie) of Hazel Green, WI; his grandchildren, Kayleigh, Cole David, Morgan and Ashton Joel; his stepgrandchildren, Keaton, Jalyn, Tytan, Pearson and Alyssa; and his siblings, Joseph "Dean" Gerber, Dianne Koch (Earl) and Debra Gerber. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
