She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Norris and Fay Norris (Hester); and her siblings, Alan, Frank Norris and Maria Lynn Norris.
She is survived by: her spouse Jerry Newell; her son Patrick Newell (Melissa) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; her grandson Dustin Newell of Waltonville, Illinois; and her siblings, Larry Norris (Linda) of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Sally Norris of Waverly, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Melinda's honor to the Waltonville Fire Department.
