He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howard and V. Lucille Laird (Crocker); and his siblings, Barbara Healy and C. Marvin Laird. He is survived by: his spouse Sidney M. Laird (Hale); his grandchildren, Jami Williams (Aaron) of Waltonville, Charlene Sullivan (Luke) of Wataga, Kate Laird (Brian Chelf) of Waltonville, Levi Laird (Paige) of Waltonville, John DeSutter of Woodhull, Alexis Laird of O'Fallon, Madeline DeSutter of Lincoln Park and Ravyn Laird of Elkville, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Ledger, Rosie, Blake, Jay, Addison, Allie, Kael and Tucker; and his sisters, Karen Benjamin of Galesburg and Donna Knight of Saint Clair, Missouri.

Memorials may be made in Jim's honor to Waltonville Alumni FFA or Waltonville Community Church Building Fund.
