He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Stewart and Helen Stewart (DePriest); his wife Frances Poiter; his brother James; his sister-in-law Mary Jo Stewart; and his nephew David Stewart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Denise Jeffers (Jim) of Sparta, IL and Lori Higgerson of DuQuoin, IL; his brother William M. Stewart (Catherine) of Port Charlotte, FL; his grandchildren, Justin Jeffers (Alinda) of Sparta, IL, Tyler Jeffers (Kelsey) of Colorado Springs, CO, Amanda Jarowski (Dusty) of DuQuoin, IL and Josh Higgerson (Marii Diaz) of DuQuoin, IL; his great grandchildren, Emma Jo Jarowski, Hattie Jean Jarowski, Claire Frances Jarowski, Jack Alan Jeffers, Tyler Ingles, Trenton Ingles, Norah Elise Jeffers, Emersyn Marie Jeffers and Nellie Jane Jeffers; and his close friend Ema Jean Poling. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Masses or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
