He is survived by: his son Chris DeWaele (Sarah) of Naples, Italy; his siblings, Florence McWaters (Rick) of Coperas Cove, Ida Vary (Rich) of Walnut, Phyllis Bill (Gary) of Sheffield, Lucinda Guzman (Bill) of Morris, John DeWaele of Walnut, Marvin DeWaele (Linda) of Mendota, Phillip DeWaele (Ann) of Walnut, Ralph DeWaele (Cathy) of Walnut and Howard DeWaele of Moline; and his grandchildren, Laela of Naples, Hayven of Naples and Lance DeWaele of Naples.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
