It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Roger Sutherland of Walnut Hill, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 84, on December 30, 2020. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Sutherland and Ruth Sutherland (Schillings). He is survived by: his wife Doris Donoho; his sister Esther Dekalb (John) of Walnut Hill; his niece Connie Bryant (Bobby); his nephew Kevin Dekalb (Dawn); his great-nephews, Chad Bryant (Michelle), Aaron Bryant (Ashley), Cody DeKalb and Dustin DeKalb; and his great-niece Jill Clifton (David).

A visitation time will be held from 10:00 a. m. until 12:00 P. M. Monday at the funeral home, where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Roger's honor to the Centralia Fire Department or Hospice.

“My sincere sympathy and prayers to the family of Roger Sutherland. I just now saw his Obituary of his Dec. 31st death. His parents and my parents were very close as we children grew up as our fathers were cousins. Roger and my brother, Merlin Johnson, were near the same age and his sister,Esther, and I (Lois Johnson Polstra) were the same age, so I remember many good family times together on Sunday afternoons as we grew up. Special memories will remain with me.”
