He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Gonyo and Freida Gonyo; his former wife Esther Gonyo; his son David Gonyo; and his great grandchild Jaiden Friebolin.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Gonyo; his son Tim Gonyo; his stepchildren, Kevin Freyermuth (Sandi), Cheryl Friebolin and Dean Curles (Tammi); his daughter-in-law Marcy Kataja (Tapio); and his grandchildren, Tonja Kataja, Carie Johnson (Adam), Kim Gonyo, Nikki Mackiewicz (Paul), Ryan Freibolin, Steve Friebolin, Marissa Friebolin, Brian Gonyo, J. D. Curles, Matt Curles, Jessica Curles, Anneli Powell (Kevin) and Amanda Qualley (Steve). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
