He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. George Maassel and Clara Maassel (Schroeder); and his siblings, Norman, Paul, Lester, Lois Wesche, Juanita Thorpe and Ruth McClain.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Keil; his family, Yvonne (Randy Crow) of Volo and Desiree (Bob Jung) of Wauconda; his grandchildren, Christiana Hebel (Rory), Joshua Crow (Sara), Ryan, Connor and Delaney Jung; his great grandchildren, Christopher and Amelia Hebel; his caregiver Jim Alba; and his siblings, Richard Maassel (Carol) and Miriam Neumann (Leonard).
