He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon D. "Bernie" and Marlene A. Bateman Harris; and his father-in-law Gary Kearns. He is survived by: his spouse Buffy Kearns; his children, Michael R. D. Harris (Nicole) of South Jacksonville, Jonathon Harris Mitchell of Tennessee and Kasey Harris of Virginia; his grandson Easton Michael Harris of South Jacksonville; and his brother Ronald D. Harris of Virginia.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
