He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Motika and Ima Motika (Gardner). He is survived by: his wife Lesa R. Pointer of Virden, IL; his daughter Heather Austif (Jamie) of Taylorville, IL; his grandchildren, Hannah Austif and Logan Austif; and his sister Rena Motika of Girard, IL.

Memorials may be made to VIrden Fire Department or Girard Fire and Rescue.
