Robert left this world on May 20, 2024 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Shores and Hannah Shores (English); his wife Barbara "Barb" Martin; his grandson Brock Scoggins; and his brothers, James Shores and Ervin Shores.

He is survived by: his children, Tina Elizabeth Burtle (John) of Virden, Robert Douglas Shores of Carlinville and Kelly Wayne; his grandchildren, Andrew Shores, Whitney Waldron, Savannah Shores and Olivia Tredennick (Dylan); his great grandchildren, Kade Waldron and Kash Waldron; and his siblings, Jerrold Shores (Vickie) of Virden, Sandra Johnson of Virginia, Sharlene Parsons of Indiana and Nancy Fuchs Hauptmann of Springfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested and may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Bob's family.
