Scharfenberg (Virden, Illinois), born in Greenfield, Illinois, who passed away on September 9, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Carl and Minnie Marie Scharfenberg (Erp); his former wife Margaret Pratt Scharfenberg; and his siblings, Adam, Albert, Clarence, Lester Scharfenberg, Rose Stults and Louise McCarty.
He is survived by: his wife Verna J. Scharfenberg; and his sons, Gary Scharfenberg of Franklin, IN and Dan Scharfenberg (Annette) of Girard, IL. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Virden Church of the Brethren or to the Virden Food Pantry.
