She was predeceased by: her parents, Carol Herm (Bob) and Jim O'Neil (Marilyn); and her father-in-law Larry DeGroot. She is survived by: her husband Brian DeGroot; her children, Joseph LaPointe and Annabell DeGroot; her mother-in-law Barb DeGroot; her brothers, Bill O'Neil (Kim) and Kevin O'Neil (Amber); her stepsiblings, Corrine Mascarenas (Pete), Ron Sund, Thomas Herm and Susie Herm; her siblings-in-law, Stacy Yacono (Mike), Kim Peroni (Bob) and Alicia DeGroot (Jim Busse); and her nieces and nephews, Katie O'Neil, Nick O'Neil, Chase O'Neil, Tawny Trankovich, Michael Yacono, Anthony Yacono, Samantha Mendoza (Cesar) and Bobby Peroni.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steuerle Chapel (350 Ardmore Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials to Union Church of Hinsdale are appreciated.
