He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife MaryAnn O'Connor; his children, Noreen Peyatt (Carson), Kelly Meadows (Steven), Coleen Carroll (Patrick), Patrick (Michelle), Timothy (Nicole), Kevin (Susan), Erin, Shaun, Shannon Ferris (Matthew), Courtney and Ryan (Dahlia); his parents, Mae O'Connor and Patrick J. O'Connor Jr.; and his brother Dr. Roderick Malone. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Montini Catholic High School Scholarship Fund or The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Chicago (Fr. Scott) are appreciated.
