It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald C. Hughes of Villa Park, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Diane J. Hughes; his daughter Maureen; and his brothers, Raymond, Sr., Leonard and Robert.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lenore and Michael; and his children, Mark, Audrey Eufrasio (Bill), Laura Edwards (Tom), Glenn (Lisa), Paul (Heidi), Kenneth and Keith (Julie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Steuerle Chapel (350 Ardmore Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181). A prayer was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 12:15 PM at the St. Alexander Catholic Church (300 S Cornell Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181).
