She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elmer Newton and Opal Marie Newton; her husband Dorris Gaylon Thomas of Brownfield; her siblings, Cliff and Anita; her daughters, Twila Staton (Mark Staton), Trina Slaughter (Lieutenant Ken Slaughter), Teresa Miller (Scott Miller) and Tammy Adkerson (Gary Adkerson); her grandchildren, Katherine Reynolds (Gib), Isaac Miller, Moriah Yates (Josiah Lee), Josiah Slaughter, Madalynn Adkerson, Emmaline Adkerson and Samuel Adkerson; and her siblings, Harry, Ronnie Newton of Indiana, David Newton of Texas, Joy Caplinger of Southern Illinois, Jean Larrison of Southern Illinois, Susie Eddleman-Summers of Southern Illinois, Thomas Newton of Southern Illinois and Gayla Warren of Southern Illinois.
