He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Elwood Dixon and Nellie L. Dixon (Lamphere); his daughter Barbara Elizabeth Rose; his daughter-in-law Mary Dixon; his sister Carolyn Lou Brumfield; and his brother-in-law Doyle Markham.
He is survived by: his wife Betty (Vinson); his children, Edward Andrew Dixon of Murray, Kevin Lynn, Holly Dixon of Makanda, Kenneth William, Angie Dixon of Makanda, George William Dixon, Jr. of Karnak and Vicki Rene Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jackie, Eddie, Robyn, Kayla, Austin, Amanda, Josh, Kaylee, Kevin, Jacob, Garrett, Lashell, Shannon, Sarah Jo, Geordian and Jennifer; and his sisters, Alice M. Markham of Eddyville, Nellie Louise Spence of Simpson, Patty Jean and Dale Morris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
