We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2025, at the age of 91, Carl Metz of Versailles, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley and Irene Dorsey Metz; his wife Genevieve E. Ashbaker; his siblings, Bill Metz, Wilma Logsdon and Virginia Jokisch; and his close friend Marilyn Elledge.
He is survived by: his children, Tarjius Cox (Kevin) of Waycross and Timothy Metz (Phyllis) of Versailles; his brother Orlando Metz (Julie) of Palmyra; his grandsons, Timothy Cox (Miranda) of Yulee, Jared Cox (Christine) and Aaron Cox (Amber) of Fort Myers; and his great grandchildren, Joshua, Emmy, Alaina and Olivia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Versailles Lions Club and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
