Sarah L. Norris Obituary
Sarah L. Norris, 84, of Vermont, IL passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at the home of her daughter in law in Jacksonville. She was born on April 28, 1936 in Bardolph, IL the daughter of Perry Kerman and Ruby Osbourne Switzer. She married Dean Allan Norris on August 20, 1954 in Colchester, IL and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1998.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Allan Norris of Phoenix, AZ and Kenneth Andrew Norris of Rushville. Six grandchildren; Amanda Stiltz, Kenneth P. Norris, Sarah A. Norris, Rusty Norris, Whitney Norris and Jessica Hopkins and three grandchildren whom she raised in her later years Josh Derry, Dalton Pippenger and Raini Pippenger; twenty-two grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Mary Alice Black of Havana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Dean Norris; one daughter, Cindy Ann Pippenger and a brother Raymond Switzer.
Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed sewing, camping, fishing, making quilts and especially loved eating popcorn while reading a good novel.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date when restrictions are lifted due to the current pandemic. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
