He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Benjamin and Edelle Coffer (Crain); and his sisters, JoAnn Schirmer (Russell), Mary Jane Coffer and Rita Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Lynn Smith (Steve) of O'Fallon, MO and Tim Coffer (Paula) of Sullivan, IL; his grandchildren, Andrew Smith (Jessica), Courtney Sumners (Matt), Gareth Coffer and Anyssa Coffer; his great grandchildren, Payton Pulley-Smith, Juniper, Elliot, Emma and Olivia Sumners; his siblings, Wilma Westerfield of DeSoto, IL and Kevin Williams (Robin) of DeSoto, IL; his nieces and nephews, Erin Williams, Denton Williams (Ashley) and Kelli Blaise; his niece Kimbra Schirmer; and also, Kailyn Harmon (Scott) and Warren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wilson's Funeral Home (206 S 5th St, Ava, IL 62907). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The preferred form of remembrance are memorials to Elverado Education Foundation or Parrish Cemetery.
