He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Payne and Carrie Payne (Rudloff); his former wife Judy A. Ozburn; his daughter Meredith Payne; and his brother Bob Payne.

He is survived by: his wife Antoinette J. Geilhausen (Schneider); his daughter Heather Waller (Trent) of Du Quoin; his stepchildren, Anjie Stendeback (Jason) of Alton and Ryan Geilhausen (Amber) of Highland; his grandchildren, Avery Waller of Du Quoin and Camden Waller of Du Quoin; his stepgrandchildren, Jack, Genevieve, Cecilia, Ariah, Rayanna and Johnnie Dee; and his nephew Chuckie Payne.
