He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh O. Payne and Elizabeth Payne (Chervanek); and his siblings, Barbara "Peggy" Gurley, Buck Payne, Tony Payne and Charles Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Novella Payne; his children, Ronald Payne (Debbie), Susan Arnold (James), Michelle Gardner (Van), Michael Payne (Stacy), Elizabeth Knepper (Steven) and Ramsey Payne; and his siblings, Harvey "Coke" Payne (Kay), Shirley "Pat" Page (Joe), Minnie Keller (Paul) and Linda Witt (Elmer). He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
