It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Meadows of Vandalia, Illinois, born in Caruthersville, Missouri, who passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Edward and Hazel Ella Meadows (Welsch); his wife Ruby Nell (Phillips); and his siblings, Mary Ruth Meadows, Doris Janet Simpson, Gary Meadows, Larry Meadows, Eugene Meadows and Bonnie Hankins.
He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Morrison of Salem, Denise Elders (Herschel "Jim") of Warrenton, MO, Keith Meadows (Anita) of Vandalia, Steven Meadows (Jackie) of Garland, TX and Valerie Frakes of Vandalia; his brother Wayne Meadows of Berger, MO; his grandchildren, Kim Hollenbeck (Jeff), Brian Wolf (Christy), Chad Elders, Christopher Elders, Stephanie Stanton (Eric), Mark Meadows (Andrea), Tamara Plachy (David), Randal Pierce, Megan Smith (Nick) and Melissa Howard (Brendan); his stepsons, Jim Robinson (Debbie), Tom Robinson (Darla) and Don Robinson (LaNae); and his close friend Louise Reeves of Mulberry Grove. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and gifts memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ of Mulberry Grove or Mulberry Grove American Legion.
