He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Lankow and Mable Lankow (Mietzner); his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Savage; his children, Aaron Lankow (Melanie) and Sally Heather; his stepchildren, David Greer (Melody) and Vickey (Mike Culpepper); his brothers, Terry Lankow (Linda) and Gene Lankow; his grandchildren, Matthew Lankow, Emily Lankow (Kiefer Stone), Andrea (Chris Wittry) and Shai (Byron Mitchamore); his great grandchildren, Andrew Wittry (Hope), Austin Wittry (Kaegan), Christopher Wittry and Zachary Mitchamore; his great great grandchildren, Parker Wittry and Kylie Wittry; and his siblings, Daryl Lankow and Sandra Naab. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Family YMCA of Fayette County.
