It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leland Stein of Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on May 8, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence W. Stein and Mildred Stein (O'Dell); his former wife Betty Ann VonBehren; his wife Joyce Mead Stephens; and his brother Alan Stein.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Price (Don) of Vandalia, Brad Stein (Joyce) of Brownstown, Kerry Stein (Cathy) of Belleville and Julie Shively (John) of Brownstown; his grandchildren, Jason Price, Rachel Price, Tricia Williams, Sheri Wallis, Carla Karban, Kristal Fournie, Kyle Stein and Skylar Sperry; his stepgrandchildren, Rodger West, Ryan Yagow, Caleb Yagow, Lisa Hutson and Janalyn Newchurch; and his siblings, Cliff Stein of Kankakee and Francis Dunbar of Waverly. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way; five step great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, please be mindful of CDC guidelines. Masks are requested by the family at the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest you buy or pick flowers and take to a loved one as this was a common practice of Lee. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church roof fund or donor's choice.
