It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Kay McDowell of Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Cooper and Beatrice Cooper (Hunter). She is survived by: her husband Ronald McDowell of Vandalia; her children, Todd McDowell (Christi) of Vandalia, Kimberly Frederick (Bill) of Washington, MO and Jana Shafer (Todd) of Vandalia; her grandchildren, Lyndsay Doehring (Billy), Adam Shafer, Tessa Gaffner (Nathan), Gage McDowell and Jake McDowell; her great grandchildren, Macy, Jaida, Aleigh, Zayden, Kynlea, Kaiden, Landen, Dawsyn, Lucas, Amelia and Liam; and her great great grandchild Dominic.
