He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Murphy and Andrew Murphy; his wife Betty; his siblings, Andy, Jim and Claire; and his granddaughter Kera Buchanan.
He is survived by: his brother Andrew; his daughters, Catherine Murphy-Emholz (Jim), Patricia Ratliff (Chad Comer), Michelle Sarver (Jerry) and Meg Schlatweiler (Jay); his grandchildren, Michelle Emholz, Kyle Ratliff, Kayla Clement, Andrew Sarver (Jessica), Denise Sarver Willers (Bill), Hilary Packard, Alex Branum (Anne), Ashlie Schlatweiler, Alex Schlatweiler and Brooke Schlatweiler; his great grandchildren, Lily, Joel, Anastasia, Syndey, Tristan, Quintin, Madison, Dakota, KJ, Evan, Jackson, Trenton, Owen, Clara, Henry and Violet; and his sister Mary Ellen Thornton (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
