Dean James Bernhardt Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 7, 2023, at the age of 88, Dean James Bernhardt of Vandalia, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Bernhardt and Tillie Bernhardt; his siblings, Leroy, Charlie Bernhardt and Wanda Tuft; his wife Catherine Bernhardt; his children, Carla, Jeff (Marcia), Lisa and Billye; his stepchildren, Lisa and Jason; his brother Don (Mary Jane); and his grandchildren, Heather, Fred, Matthew, Max, Kieran, Jori and Austin. He was also cherished by eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks you donate to causes that were near and dear to his heart: Holy Cross Lutheran Church and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
