She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Shafer and Frances Shafer; her husband Carroll Richard Bridges Jr.; and her grandson Ian Matthew Bridges. She is survived by: her siblings, Steve Shafer, Connie Kingery (Alvin Kingery) and Scott Shafer (Jan Shafer); her children, Richard Bridges (Maria Bridges), Daniel Bridges (Dawn Bridges) and Shannon Sidwell (Chris Sidwell); and her grandchildren, Jacob Bridges, Joshua Bridges, Ethan Bridges, Sean Bridges (Keziah Stutzman), Sara Melsa (Daniel Melsa), Zach Benaitis, Ben Benaitis, Addi Benaitis, Andrew Metzger, Kaleb Elzey and Max Sidwell.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Northside Christian Church (1845 Jackson St, Vandalia, IL 62471). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Jewett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nourishing Greatness, a program in Vandalia providing weekend meals to our students who experience food insecurity.
