It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Payne of Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Flath and Mildred Flath (Denning); her husband Joe; her siblings, Oscar, Leonard Flath and Loretta Boyce; her stepdaughter Sandy Payne; her stepgrandson Jonathon McKimmey; her great grandchild Cheyenne Finch; and her great great grandchildren, Jeremy Finch and Malak Graumenz.

She is survived by: her children, Denise (Ed Maroon), Lori (Keith Moeller), Bryan (Belinda Francois), Amy (David Graumenz) and Renee (John Brink); her stepchildren, Mark, Tammy Payne of Sarasota, FL, Carl, Janice Payne of Deland, FL, Gregory, Janet Payne of Wesley Chapel, FL, Richard Payne of Cape Girardeau, MO and Robert Payne of Jackson, MO.; and her pet Koby. She is also survived by 41 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evans Public Library or Vandalia Community Schools (Memo: Forging our Future).
